Black Magic - Hard 2 Find Vol.5

Black Magic Hard 2 Find Vol 3
Black Magic - Hard 2 Find Vol.5
(Download/Limited CD) Colored-Inc. COLI019, 2010-12-20

An artistic revolution has been ongoing these recent years in Paris, with some unique producers breathing new life into the idea of jazz music, upping the standards of sound and production to those of the masters - Miles Davis, Lee Perry, Fela Kuti, Sun Ra, Traffic and the such...

From the message-intense material, impressionistic soundscapes and folk musings of Doctor L to the dancefloor-filling cosmic afro and soulful roots reggae vibes of Grant Phabao, the Colored-Inc. collective has managed to create a solid universe, showcasing the many facets of the jazz spectrum in the shape of a free-minded label, undoubtly this year's most ambitious one.

Black Magic is their fifth experience in cooperative expression, a voodoo-themed concept album of music suitable for the dancefloor or the living room, a fresh wave of Jazz, Soul, Afro & Reggae production, untangling the scribble of the wicked world with clarity and maturity, and bringing Paris back to its rightful place, the cultural center of the world.

Paris DJs Soundsystem - Dis Is Good For You - Tropical Grooves and Afrofunk International

"Dis Is Good For You - Tropical Grooves and Afrofunk International" is the first compilation coming out on the newly-launched Paris DJs label, gathering old cats and newcomers from the worldwide Afro/Tropical scene. Dwelving into the minds and hard drives of their international network of artists and producers for a whole month, Paris DJs have carefully selected 13 tracks of current, modern, 21st century Afrofunk, Afrobeat, Ethio-Jazz, Reggae and Soul, and even mixed most of those from separate parts themselves, raising the production level to their high quality standards of warm, spatialized, heavy sound…

The Drug Store Hard 2 Find Vol 3

The Drug Store - Hard 2 Find Vol.4

The Drug Store is the first venture for the Colored-Inc. label into Psychedelic Folk & Rock vibes. Blending Nigerian harmonies with American Folk and Jazz, Reggae chants with Stoner Rock and Hip Hop beats or Nyabinghi percussions, freaky electronics with Afrobeat or deep poetry, James Bond-like arrangements with 21st century Chicago Soul, and inviting some famous Zulu Nation King & MC to a deep garage-blues session, this is indeed a kind of a Multi-Colored Thing, a nearly hallucinatory record pushing the Colored-Inc. label's identity towards more edgy forms of African, Carribean and Afro-American music. Production duties by Erik Rug, Doctor L and Grant Phabao, with star guesting Amayo from the Fu-Arkist-Ra and Allonymous (USA), Kiala Nzavotunga and Tony Allen (from Nigeria), The Jays (from Jamaica), Le Damn Dog, Kactus Hunters, The Joslyns and The Farell Girls (from Paris)
